Cairn Terriery
Jest to zwinny, wesoły, niezwykle ruchliwy pies. Pewnie stoi na przednich łapkach. Przepiękny w swych płynnych ruchach, zwłaszcza podczas biegu.
Pochodzi z zachodnich wyżyn Szkocji. Natura terriera zmusza je do kopania wszędzie gdzie popadnie (uwaga na trawnik!). Jest schludnym i pogodnym
towarzyszem. Doskonały do zabawy z dziećmi.
W/g normy FCI należy do grupy III - terrierów, sekcji II - terrierów małych.
Krótki opis:
Pies nie jest zbyt duży. Wysokość w kłębie dochodzi do 31 cm, waga kształtuje się w przedziale od 6 do 7,5 kg.
Głowa jest mała, zwinna, proporcjonalna, obrośnięta sierścią. Mózgoczaszka zdecydowanie szeroka z wyraźnym wgłębieniem między oczami.
Czarny nosek. Zęby bardzo silne. Oczy szeroko rozstawione, średniej wielkości, zazwyczaj ciemnoorzechowe, lekko zagłębione w
oczodołach, otoczone bujnymi brwiami. Uszy malutkie, spiczaste, dobrze noszone i koniecznie stojące, dla odmiany nie powinny być
obrośnięte sierścią. Szyja jest związana z tułowiem, ale powinna być widoczna (niezbyt krótka). Grzbiet idealnie prosty, niezbyt długi.
Ogonek krótki, proporcjonalny, oczywiście porośnięty sierścią, ale nie za bardzo by nie było 'wiechy'. Nie powinien zakręcać nad grzbiet.
Łapki przednie porośnięte są twardą sierścią, mogą wystawać lekko na zewnątrz, kość mocna, ale nie może być za gruba. Łokcie nie mogą odstawać!
Łapki tylne z kolei silne i muskularne.
Włos w tej rasie jest bardzo ważny. Okrywowy jest bardzo obfity i twardy, ale nie może być zbyt gruby. Podszerstek ma być krótki,
miękki i gęsty. Trafiają się osobniki o kolorach od kremowego, poprzez przeniczne, czerwonorude, szare do prawie czarnych.
